EE undergrad Elliot Staudt receives Outstanding Achievement Award
 

Elliot Staudt is an electrical engineering student who transferred to UCR from community college in the winter quarter of 2009. He works in Associate Professor Amit Roy-Chowdhury’s Video Computing Group. His research work includes developing a tracking algorithm that used a form of sampling to connect broken tracks over an extendedperiod of time. He contributed to two papers that were published in internationally recognized conferences on computer vision. This year he continues to work developing tracking software. In addition, his senior design project is a NASA sponsored program to develop a wireless communication node that can run on two AA batteries for several years. This summer he will intern at Mayachitra, Incorporated in Santa Barbara, CA which specializes in computer vision. Next year his plans include pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at UCR.

Elliot Staudt received the 2009-2010, Marlan and Rosemary Bourns Academic Excellence Award. This Year he received the Outstanding Achievement Award; which recognizes one student from each of college and school, selected by their respective deans, for their exemplary achievement in academics and research or creative activity, their breadth of involvement in the college, and for their commitment to service and citizenship.
