Liu receives an NSF grant for research in electron injection effect on ZnO

LiuEE Associate Professor Jianlin Liu has received a three-year grant from National Science Foundation to carry out research in electron injection effect on Zinc Oxide (ZnO). This is a collaborative research project between Liu's group and Professor Leonid Chernyak's group at University of Central Florida. ZnO is a wide band gap semiconductor material that has potential applications in ultraviolet optoelectronics such as light emitting diodes and lasers. It was found that electron injection effect can improve ZnO materials and devices. This project lays out a concrete plan to study these phenomena. The successful research will likely stimulate broader interest toward future development of efficient ZnO-based optoelectronic devices.
