Two PhD students recieve Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuit Symposium

July 30, 2012

Zitao Shi and Xin Wang, both were PhD students in Prof. Albert Wang’s research group, received the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuit Symposium (RFIC) held in Montreal, Canada, in June 2013. IEEE RFIC is the topmost venue for researchers around the world to report the latest outcomes in the area of high-frequency IC technologies and designs. The award-winning paper, entitled “Nano Crystal Quantum Dots Tunable On-Chip ESD Protection”, reported the first ever post-Si and field-programmable on-chip ESD protection circuit design concept, completely different from any traditional on-chip ESD protection techniques, and demonstrated encouraging results. This project was a joint research between Prof. Albert Wang and Prof. Jianlin Liu. Many students from the two research groups participated in this joint research.
