NGA Supports Research in Human Activity Prediction

April 7, 2015

Human activities are correlated in space and time. This structure can be used to recognize and predict activities that may happen in the future. Such predictions can be used for filling in missing portions of a video or to direct a sensor to focus on targets of interest. The National Geospatial Agency has recently provided a multi-year grant to Professor Amit Roy-Chowdhury to study the problem of activity prediction in video. The single-PI $375K 5-year grant (2 base years and 3 option years) will support multiple graduate students in their PhD studies.
