These are the steps we suggest you take before you submit the electronic graduate application to the Graduate Division.
- Take the GRE exam (all applicants) and the TOEFL exam (international applicants only), and have your score sent to the Department of Electrical Engineering from Educational Testing Service (ETS);
- Request two copies of all official transcripts (all applicants) and Certificate of Degree (international applicants) from your postsecondary institution to be sent directly to the Department of Electrical Engineering;
- Contact at least three individuals to recommend you to our program and provide them with the Letter of Recommendation Form. Please note that the recommender must submit a letter of recommendation on official letterhead in a sealed envelope in addition to the form;
- Write your statement of purpose, including goals and qualifications on the form provided;
- Gather all the supplemental documents required by the department including the $60 for domestic application fee or $75 for international application fee (check or money order only), writing statement, financial statement, disclaimer form, and supplemental fellowship form (domestic applicants only);
- Thoroughly explore the UCR Graduate Division website;
- You are now ready to begin completing the electronic graduate application.
Note: The department will contact you via e-mail; therefore, it is important that you provide to us a reliable e-mail account that you check regularly.
