Ozkan published article in ACS NANO
30nm icosa virus particles are used as templates for the self-assembly of semiconducting quantum dots. Previously within micron scale cross-bar devices their memory characteristics were identified. This work was reported in the Applied Physics Letters.
Recently, by Associate Professor Mihri Ozkan's laboratory, the memory characteristics of these hybrid virus-quantum dot assemblies are proved at the nanometer scale on more than 80 hybrids individually.
Her nanoscale memory work with these hybrids is just published in ACS NANO. Her graduate students Nate Portney (Bioengineering department) and Alfredo Martinez (Electrical Engineering Department) performed this highly interdisciplinary research.
